It's great to see the picture from the 1965 color war-circus. I was the General then of the Maroon team and Myroon was my nickname. Our counselors built a 20-30 foot circus car made out of wood, rubber wheels and covered with paper & painted to look like a moving circus car with a door in it. We had all the younger campers about 60-70 dressed up in costumes like circus animals and they were in the car (walking within it- and coulr not be seen) as it was pulled toward the softball field during Entrance sing presentation. When the car reached the field, the campers inside the car all came out (surprising all the onlookers) in twos and performed like the animals they were dressed up as. Mark Jonas(my lieutenant general) acted as ringmaster and the "Ring" was surrounded by about 8 autos with their headlight on to light up the event. In the dark, it looked fantastic. As I recall, this entrance increased our lead and that year we won Color War. All who were there were impressed with this presentation (including Jerry Turner and Mendy Vim). I think Marv Fleischman-head counselor -boys, took movies of this event. Where is he now that we need him? Any how the memories are coming back (i hope accurately).

myron, As one of the participating "animals" during this presentation,it brings back great memories from 42 years ago. I remember Marc Jonas well, although he could never convince me that water skiing was a major sport. If you recall, these presentations were called "Physical Entrances" and were judged by the majesty of the presentation. Do you remember Fake Color War announcements to try to fool the campers that color war had begun? These phony announcements were probably as expensive to produce{I recall the use of a heliocopter to drop pamphlets etc} as color war presentations.
