We packed up our trunks and duffle bags and went off to places with names like Ranger, Timberlake, Olympus, and Chipinaw. They were OK, but no place was quite as special as our beloved Pokono Ramona... "friends, friends, friends - we will always be... whether in fair or in dark stormy weather..."
The Maroon and Grey burns forever in our hearts...

Randy - got to love it - do you still have a day job?

Last year (summer of 2006) I went to camp the same day that Mendy was there. He told us that he hadn't been there since camp had closed. What a coincidence that we both would be there the same day. While I can't speak for him, knowing that the Dam project never came through, what a shame that Pokono Ramona didn't live on...

That is so sad to read, I've never seen that letter from Mendy before-it's a heartbreaker for sure.
Having grown up at Pokono Ramona from the time I was just a few years old, it was so sad for me when the property was sold. And then when the government wound up doing nothing with it, I was even sadder.
