OMG ! Everything looks so new, shiny floors and all, these pictures are a first for me. More like a bungalow colony with a camp for the kids back then, not what it was in the 60's. Fabulous memories. Kudos!

I can confirm one of those dates for you. My grandfather, Rabbi Herman, couldn't have been there on visiting day in 1971, as he passed away on Yom Kippur eve of 1970 when I was a senior at the University of Michigan -- it was just 8 months before I got married. I got a call early in the week that he was in the hospital and we got the call that he had died just after I got home for the holiday. We spent the whole day in synagogue on Yom Kippur and couldn't leave to go to New York for the funeral until it was over. What an awful day that was!

Is whoever did this sure that the flood was in 1955? I thought it was in 1956, which was the summer my sister was born. I know we weren't in camp the year of the flood and we weren't in camp the year my sister was born, so I always thought the flood was in 1956. It's possible that we missed two summers in a row, but I sure don't remember ever doing that.

I don't remember the kitchen fire at all and I'm sure I was there that summer.
